New Build Problems

Hey all,

Firstly I wanna say thanks for giving me my motherboard. After a loaoaoad of stuff happening I have now got my new PC up and running, or so I thought.

DFI LanParty x58 T3H6

Intel Core i7-950 Bloomfield 45nm

Corsair TX850 V2 850W

12GB (3 x 4GB) XMS DDR3 1600MHz 240-pin DIMM CL9

EVGA GeForce GTX 570 797MHz 1280MB Superclocked

Turned the PC on for the first time and got an error on the LED diagnostic - CF. Which related to RAM voltage, incompatible ram timings as well as the BIOS.

After resetting I managed to get it to boot and installed windows and drivers. But I kept on getting blue screens. Tried to solve them this morning, but I have got the CF error again, despite setting the ram speeds and volts.

I am now at a loss as to what to do.

First time a google bought up making sure that the RAM was in the correct slots - DFI seems to not be conventional in the placing of them.

Think thats all I have tried. Not got anything else to swap round, apart from graphics card.....

Cheers guys

I would guess at a faulty mother board then if you even set the timings in the BIOS and are still getting the incorrect timings error

That is one funky looking motherboard

Maybe you got some ram sticks that are broken. Could try one and one to see if same error comes up. If not this, then perhaps the mobo needs to be RMA.

Did you flash to latest bios?

Cheers for the reply guys.

Tried contacting Corsair, DFI and dabs.com

DFI are amazing. Sent an email to the only address I could, got a reply from the correct department within a day and are now trading emails.

Its the shipped bios. Annoying that I didnt think to do that when I managed to get past the POST.

Basic ram timings and voltage are set.

Looking for some clarification. Ram thats 1.65 will boot at 1.5. then you can just change it after its booted?

cheers

FWIW, I sorted this out. The bios had forgotten the ram settings.

They took a LOOOOOAD of resets to boot at 1.5v

windows is only using 4 gb

Cant see memory remapping on the bios...

Lil bit of an update here.

Turns out that the board that I won is on its way out. support say that I am unable to get it under warranty. So now need a new board
