new build issues!

Wondering if anyone can help me please! Basically its my first computer build a sandy bridge i5 2500k, asus p8z68 pro gen 3 motherboard ripjaws 2100 ram, a crutial m4 64gb ssd, gtx 580 and a hx 850 psu.

I built the computer which booted fine into the bios, installed windows 7 then went on to perform a overclock.

Went for 4.5ghz and found it stable running prime95 for 12 hours with no errors.

The next time I turned on windows the computer crashed after loading windows.

After restarting the computer ran fine but then crashed again next time I turned computer on in windows.

So i thought the fault might be in the overclock so I reset the bios to the asus bios from there website which I thought had done the trick until it crashed after the computer loaded windows yesterday.

Now the computer is not even loading bios it appears to be running fine when I turn it on but no signal through t.v atall. Looked at the motherboard and no error lights are lighting up.

Really don't no what to do as this is my first build and im sick of it after spending so much on parts

Might have to take it apart and start again!

Any help would be hugely appreciated as I don't no what to do and im so frustrated! Or anyone that could advice me where I could find out?

Probably should have cleared the CMOS instead of flashing the BIOS or at least before anyway.

Yeah remove the battery see if that helps

Remove which battery mate? I keep turning it on now and whenever it does decide to boot into windows it crashes after a period every time

The battery on the motherboard, it will reset the bios.

Oh god done that , restarted it and its crashed but now the CPU led has lit on the motherboard

does that mean its basically ruinned?

hmm, try reseating the CPU cooler, it might be overheating.

Defo dnt think it's my over heating because I downloaded a temperature program when I ran prime95 temperatures never exceeded 65 degrees. Really I'm worrying that it might be a hardware issue. Thanks for your replies aswell buddy I appreciate it

I don't see how your CPU could have died unless you're running ridiculous volts through it, which I don't think you've done.

It could be related to your CPU power. Make sure the 8 pin power cable is fully in it's socket. (Also not 100% this can be done, but make sure you haven't put a PCI-E cable in there, instead of the 8 pin)

I would have a go reseating it if you haven't already, make sure to put some fresh thermal paste on it though.

If that doesn't work, remove everything apart from the bare minimals to see if it will post.

I've seen this problem before where somebody did the same thing.

I had a similar problem with my old Phenom ii x4 840 and it turned out that one of the pins had bent and broken but i doubt this is a problem with a sandybridge as it is much harder due to the pins being on the mb.
