Actually there are significantly adding more draw calls. They take advantage of more threads so more draw calls can be added onto other cores instead of tacking it into the first thread. AMD FX cpus are not great anymore. What they used to have in advantage of multi threaded performance has now basically gone. In addition Intel's vastly superior single thread support just puts it that much further ahead.
I'm not even going to pretend I understand the workings of DX12 or Vulkan haha.
That bolded part basically sums up why I'm looking to jump ship with the upgrade. When I got the FX-6300 three years ago it was a hell of a lot of processor for the money I paid (£72 due to damaged packaging on OCUK) but lately it just feels like it's gutless.
If I had the money I'd go i7 K-series for the HT and option to overclock later on but at this point I feel the i5 6500 is going to be a massive, noticeable step up in performance. The surplus iGPU will still irritate me.
