New AMD Build

Looks good to me. I have been tempted to leave Intel/Nvidia for AMD recently. I might just hop in when Bulldozer goes live. (anyone know when that is?)

If Bulldozer comes out sood i might wait for it. im coming from a q6600 and 3 gb of ram and a gts 250 with vista 32-bit and its slow so this will still be a very nice upgrade.

only thing I would consider changing is that H50 for something different. I'm not 100% sold it can handle the 125w of the hexacore for long periods of use.

i could spend a little more and get the NH-D14. i was trying to go for a clean look but a better cooler is probably smarter.

or for about $1650 i can switch out the motherboard for the Gigabyte 890XFA-UD5 get the TX-850 instead of the HX-850 and get the 1055T instead of the 1090T? The only thing is i am not a big fan of the blue motherboard and im going to mod the side panel with a window and im trying to go for a red and black theme.

I always go for Gigabyte boards but this is down to personal experience and im ust to them from ages ago..your not going with an AMD anymore yet the post says as such :-/ fail title or a lack of balls to be different?

AMD FOR EVER! my 955 can run at 3.8 but it was alil bit to much air noise for me so downed it to 3.6 and it does everything I need it to do and has lasted a year alrdy and I would think it will last many more (at 3.8 in its later life im sure of).

Shame your turning to intel as well I saw the thred title and felt hope

Dude he wants the best performance. So he goes with intel. AMD sadly has not been able to outperform intel chips. And im not a fan boy i just get whatever gives me the best performance.

I understand this but you dont quite get me?

I AM AN AMD FAN BOI! have been for many years. I nearly went intel on my last build but everything has an intel premium price on it(motherboard, cpu,). better bang for buck at time I built for AMD.
