Hey :)

It's time to throw the old monitor away and get a new one.

I bought a new rig in october last year and using a asus gtx780 card.

The monitor will be used for gaming, movies and some basic photo editing.

My budget is £600~ish. Any suggestions?

Thanks :)

Nice options there:)

What you guys think about 1440p ips vs a 4k Tn?

I feel that 1440p is just something in between, so 4k must be better for the future, right?

But will my card have any change drive that kind of monitor?

If you get a 4k monitor, you could always just run it at 1080p for now until you have the grunt to play at 4k

Thats true, but when I upgrade my card then the 4k panel is outdateted aswell :p

If I should choose between the PB287Q 4K TN OR the PB278Q 1440 PLS what would be the "smartest" move now? Everything will anyways be a big upgrade, atm im using a syncmaster T240 24" 1080p. Its working, but is rly the bottleneck in my system :p

I think 4k IPS panels are a littler while off yet, and by the time you can power a 4k monitor at 120hz tech will have moved on, the term get what you need when you need it comes to mind ^_^

If you do video and photo editing and therefore need the coulour accuracy, get the PB278Q, if you're mostly gaming get the PB287Q.
Can't go wrong with either one.
Just bear in mind that 4k is about twice as many pixels as 1440p, so demanding future games will push your gpu to it's limits.

The Samsung U28D590 has terrible colour out of the box and a very bad TN panel, if you look up some reviews can see this. If want to a video of side by side to a colour corrected panel look up a video by tek syndicate. The last part really shows the how bad the colour is.

Yeah, I know. The Samsung use the same panel as the PB287Q aswell, so thats why I stick with the pls panel instead.
