Netflix's The Witcher series receives its Main Trailer and a release date

I don't dig it. It seems a bit too westernized. The thing about video games is that they are made by people from Poland so they managed to capture that Slavic atmosphere from the books rather well. There's none of that in the trailers, and in my opinion there should be. Atmosphere is a pretty important aspect that differentiates The Witcher from western fantasies such as LoTR or GoT.

I stopped bothering about that stuff. It is Americans making content for Americans so i don't have any expectations. I have experienced The Witcher series the proper way through books and games. I will watch the series but from a different angle. Those who experience The Witcher through the series for the first time will probably miss the whole point but people like different things.

What i hate the most are remakes of TV series and movies. Like The Ring, Broadchurch, Bron/Broen, and countless others.

Now when i stumble on, or get recommended some series, or movie i first research if it is original or a remake. If it is then I always watch the original. Also if it is based on a book I will always read it. Usually before I watch it.

I was trying to be nice about it. The truth is, I think it looks cheap. Production value is simply not there. Look at The Mandalorian. You can tell from the trailer that the production value is excellent and that A LOT of money went into it. But The Witcher looks like just another in a long line of low budget fantasy/sci-fi shows aimed at teenagers. One of those shows that doesn't go past two seasons. I could be wrong, and I hope that I am, but that's the vibe that I got from this trailer.

The author and creator of the books is working alongside the production team. I wouldn't blame Americans or Westerners. There's an opportunity to make money, Netflix was the first to get rights for it and they started to do something with it. In April of last year they got Sapkowski to join them.

My only problem without having looked at the main trailer yet is the acting cast and political BS they are introducing. That's where I would lay blame to the West.

The religion of multiculturalism has to be injected into everything... only in the western world though, Nowhere else of course.

I'm digging the fighting scenes, looks like there's heavy inspiration from the games.

I'm a bit worried it will come across too cheesy.
