Netbooks get Dual Core Intel Atom's

Kind of a bit pointless. If you want a high performance chip you go for a proper laptop. The atom's architecture isn't really suited to high performance at the best of times.

You're completely ignoring the size benefits of a netbook though. Some people do actually want small with the best performance possible for that form factor. I'm one of them.

I was speaking as someone who owns a netbook. If you want a small size laptop with good battery life and decent performance, you go for one with a decent ULV processor. If you need something built for browsing the web and typing notes in lectures, you go for a netbook.

The atom's architecture is not suited to today's demands, so even a dual core variant will be dissapointing.
