Netbook Help.

Im going to be going off too the military soon, and want to get a Netbook as im unable to take my PC with me.

My knowledge of Netbooks is pretty limited, and ive had little luck in finding reliable sources of information and reviews.

I was wondering if anyone could recommend things to look for in a Netbook, or could suggest some of the better performing ones. I am on a tight budget so im looking towards the less expensive end of the market. I understand most are similar in the hardware they use, so i dont expect alot of difference.

Im planning on using it primarily while it is plugged in, so im not worried about 3 or 6 cell batteries.

Im located in Canada so any model suggestions would obviously need to be available here.

Any info or suggestions would be much appreciated. :worship:

Got an acer aspire over here in the Uk its labled as the A150, got a 1.6ghz atom in it with 1gb ram and a 120gb hdd with xp home

From my experience of using it its naff at viewing HD videos on the web has a few stutters here and there but most of the time its fine not as quick as a desktop but for £150 defo worth it,

I use it mostly for web browsing the occasional itunes fling and a bit of word processing, the keyboard does take a little getting used to as its tiny the track pad has its buttons either side instead of underneath again after a week of use its second nature now.

I get around 2hrs on battery when web browsing but like you said I run it mostly with the power cord.

However if you want something a tad more desktop speed like, I used to run a 12" fujitsu siemens amilo pro that had a core2due chip in it that I gave to my mom ran much faster than this netbook as it seems the netbook craze has suppased the smaller laptops that were around.

The Acer you mentioned sounds alot like this one...

The last choice is more expensive but I thought the larger screen might be worth it.

Still looking for input though. :)
