Nero 5.5 and Dell DVD +/- RW drive

Hi,

I have recently got a new Dell PC from the outlet store which has a DVD +/- RW drive in it (sorry dont know the specifics), anyway, I was trying to write a CD using Nero 5.5, but it only gives me the option of writing to a virtual drive.

The version of Nero I have is a good 3 years old, would it be that the software is too old to recognise the drive type that I have because it is too new?

Yeah, you will need a newer version of Nero. If your version of Nero was OEM (came with a CDR-Drive) then you will probably need to purchase a full license to get an updated version.

All version of Nero are great IMO. The latest version does come with a LOT of bloat tho, that i just chose not to install.

So would I be missing out on anything much if I were to upgrade to 6 and not 7 ?

i use 6, works fine for me

nero is still the best imo
