With all the added features including Hyper-transport, it's no wonder. The transister count must be through the roof....hopefully high0k can deal with the heat.

Any news team wanna post this on the frontpage?

900 Pins bang on..

Hmm end of 2008 but more likely start of 2009.. Dunno if I can wait that long. Think i'll have to get a Penryn in May. Problem is its gonna mean another mobo change when these things come out.

Sheezz, there`s no need for 900 pins.

There will be a need for new mobos tho ;)
Nehalem will apparently have 2 x sockets available for it - Socket B and H (LGA 1366 and 715 respectively). Socket B has the extra pins because it supports a processor with a built-in memory controller and integrated graphics. (a-la AMD's Fuzion). Nehalem is also supposed to do away with the FSB as we know it and adopt a serial interconnect similar to HyperTransport. Intel's HyperThreading as Kemp mentioned is making a comeback, but this time around will be called Simultaneous MultiThreading.

See I read that about the sockets somewhere yesterday but that would mean that pic is wrong above as it is 900. Counted.
