With all the added features including Hyper-transport, it's no wonder. The transister count must be through the roof....hopefully high0k can deal with the heat.
Hmm end of 2008 but more likely start of 2009.. Dunno if I can wait that long. Think i'll have to get a Penryn in May. Problem is its gonna mean another mobo change when these things come out.
Nehalem will apparently have 2 x sockets available for it - Socket B and H (LGA 1366 and 715 respectively). Socket B has the extra pins because it supports a processor with a built-in memory controller and integrated graphics. (a-la AMD's Fuzion). Nehalem is also supposed to do away with the FSB as we know it and adopt a serial interconnect similar to HyperTransport. Intel's HyperThreading as Kemp mentioned is making a comeback, but this time around will be called Simultaneous MultiThreading.
