Need some help for building my rig

Finally got some time to build a system. I haven't build a system in almost a decade. I'm not absolutely up to date with everything but try my best. Here are the list of components I think will be getting into my system.

MOTHERBOARD MSI Mpower $198
CPU 3770K $332
RAM patriot viper 2133 (16G) $140
SSD Samsung 840 250G $195
HDD WD Red NAS EFRX 3 TB $185
GPU 7970 ASUS 3G $449
COOLER H100i $145
PSU Corsair HX750-V2 $198
SOUND CARD Asus Xonar DGX $35
OPTICAL DRIVE Blu-Ray writer Pioneer $90
WINDOWS Windows 8 $99
MONITOR Asus 23 ML239H IPS $169

main purpose for building this system is to be able to edit some HD videos, pictures editing (photoshop) and of course gaming. I'm trying not to exceed $2500 for now. I plan to run multiple HD monitors in future but 7970 with 3gig is best I can afford right now.
I have a very bad history with seagate HDDs and WD 3TB reds are best I could find with my retailer which is good for the price and reliability. I have never tried these drives before so I was wondering if it is alright. Plan is to add few more of these drives later as I have some money and run in RAID 5.
Can't decide on the case right now. Any suggestion is welcome. Please don't suggest latest cases as it takes very long time for any components to be released here in Australia. We get everything after rest of the world is done with. Reasonably priced silent case is what I'm looking for.

I am open to any suggestions for any components and my build. Thanks in advance.
All my prices are in AUS dollars. AUS dollar is equall to US dollars right now. And all component prices are from this site www.msy.com.au.
This is the cheapest retailer in Australia so don't have much choices.

I've heard the WD Reds are not very good. I would rather go for a Black or a Blue or even a green, seeing as you have an SSD for the OS.

As for a case, I can suggest a 650D as I have one. It is a very good looking case and noise wise it is not bad at all. Some people have had issues with the fan + grill combination at the front (slight buzzing), but its not a deal breaker.

I can recommend Fractal Design Define R4. U will need some thermal-paste - Artic Silver 5.

Absolutely fantastic price and silent as well. Just went through Tom's review again and according to him H100 is not supported natively by this case. Since H100i rad is exactly same as H100 I am assuming it will not support it as well. I might have to switch to D14 or silver arrow if I couldn't find something agreeable with me. Thanks heaps.

All looks good, would maybe switch the 840 for an 840 pro but that's nit picking.

As for cases, CM 690II Advanced, Corsair 500R/600T/550D/650D/C70, Fractal Arc midi, Fractal R4, Nanoxia Deep silence (the one TTL just reviewed) spring to mind most.

I'll recheck about WD reds. Thanks heaps for information. WD blacks are heaps expensive compared to reds. For same price I only get 2TB drives. I'll be looking at almost $500 more by the end of finishing my raid 5 config. WD green is what I'm leaning towards right now.

650D sounds very good with mess insert for side panel which cost about $40 extra so all together it is going to cost me $240 where r4 is about $150. I'll keep it in mind as an option. Thanks heaps again

Everything looks solid, but if I were you I'd go for a black WD. They are fast! or a for a seagate.

Choosing red was for price and reliability as they are NAS drives and are considerably cheaper than blacks. But, someone has mentioned reds have a bad rep I'll look into greens or blue. For storage I think these should do quite alright. I've already mentioned I've very bad history with seagate drives including 4 HDD crashes and massive amount of data losses. It could be just bad luck but I would prefer not to use seagate anymore. Thanks heaps for your suggestions.

Why would you want a mesh insert? lol

I'd agree with this quote - I myself have a black and have had no problems whatsoever (see my signature for my specs) other than that setup looks good. As for a case that's personal preference as long as you can fit the H100i. Corsair 650 is a nice case Coolermaster too

Hope this helps

Kind Regards

Adam :D

H100i will fit - although a very tight, slightly off-centered mount.
This and other vids on Youtube shows how:

why are you using nas server hdd in a pc?

reds are heaps cheaper than blacks so was keeping it under the budget. Planning to get few more drivers later and put it in raid 5. All together it comes out to be $500 cheaper. I'm reconsidering it though.
