Need help with cable sleeving.

I want to single sleeve the 24pin, 8pin and both PCI-E cables, on my Corsair CX500, but I don't want to open it and void the warranty, so first question: "Will removing the original sleeving void it?" and "Should I just sleeve the part of the cables, that is visible, or sleeve the full length and heatshrink them, as close to the PSU, as possible?" Thanks in advance.

Hi :) I've just been sleeving for hours this evening as it happens lol :) I believe that even by sleeving the cables you are voiding the warranty, so then you might as well open it up as it would be no worse warranty wise and would look a bit better in the end. You could just shrink as close as possible to the power supply if you didn't want to risk opening it and it would still look okay. If you are going to go inside the psu just make sure you're very careful as the capacitors can store lethal amounts of charge for a long time after turning it off. Whichever you decide it's a fun bit of modding to do, and will look great when you're done :)

Thanks for the reply. I'll go for full length sleeving, because I spoke with the retailer, from which I bough the PSU and they told me, that removing the original sleeving will indeed void the warranty, and if something go wrong, I'll just buy another, or hopefully CX500M, if they decide to start selling them in my country lol.

remember that if the cables go INTO the psu, adding sleeve if it's more than before, will require the hole to be made larger. Which you should cut well away from the psu itself ;)

just a headsup
