Been having issues for a week now
my setup is
140Gb SSD as my OS drive
1tb HDD as my storage drive
Last week I had bootup issues forcing me back to windows 8
Currently on a clean windows 8 install now
All was ok till yesterday when the PC randomly crashed and booted back up fine nothing unusual in the event logs other than a kernal issue.
This morning the PC would not boot up and gave me the following

A required device isn't connected or accessable Error 0xc0000225
Unplugged everything still same
Unplugged my DVD and HDD from their sata ports and booted up
Seems to be the HDD causing the issue as it boots up fine when not connected

Now I have set that drive to be hot swappable the pc still wont boot up when its connected.
I am able to plug its sata into the motherboard and windows will then see it and allow me to open it.
Disc management also shows it also

Which Motherboard are you using?
Is your BIOS up to date?
Which SATA controller are you plugged into?
Which Raid (if any) do you have set?
Have you checked the S.M.A.R.T data of both your drives?
Are your sata cables OK have you tried others?

motherboard is Gigabyte F2A88XM-D3H rev 3,0 bios is F9.
Sata cables are ok tried all sata ports smart dat for both is good no raid set
I am able to see the drive if I bootup with the sata unplugged then plug once into windows so have backed the data up.

Just had a play in the bios and disabled all but the ssd as boot options and its booting up normally, wierd this only just started as the drive is 1 year old and was relegated to storage when I got the SSD in February.

well i seemed yo have fixed it by the bios changes no longer using the windows boot manager and set the ssd as the only boot device.
Even took the plunge back to windows 10 so far so good.
