Hi!

I've been in the computer world a long time, but come to think of that I actually never done a disk benchmark before. What kind of program do you recommend?
I've tried to search for CrystalDiskMark, but I've read from many users that it also installs spyware...

Any recommendations?

Thanks!

Crystaldiskmark does not install any spyware unless you install it from some untrusted source.

I found it the best for benchmarking

Just make sure to decline the yahoo toolbar or whatever it is during the installation. Most of thdays free programs have ads during installation that want you to install other toolbars/software, you can simply declined it

So installing it from their website, crystalmark.info should be safe? They have many edition, but I'm guessing the standard edition should suffice, right?

Wow, to my surprise, my best disk had a 72MB/s read/write! oO
My second disk which is also a sata had like 30MB/s r/w :/

I'm using old sata :P

What are normal sata speeds these days? Not ssd.
