Need a new mouse PLEASE HELP !

Well I just spent the better part of about ten minutes scanning my eyes over the screen of the forum and for the love of me I can not find a suitable area to post this in (like peripherals, mice, keyboards etc) as one does not seem to exist.

Maybe the admins can make one and then move this post there. OK, so my problem.

I've been through more mice in the past three years than I care to mention and it's really starting to god damn *beep* me off. It's not like I buy cheap mice either I spend a load of cash looking for quality but I just can't seem to find it. And that is really *beeping* me off.

Since 2008 I have been through many mice. I will try to remember then and why they went in the bin.

Razer Salmosa. Suffered the dreaded squeak issue and in the end the right click stopped working.

Razer Boomslang was up next. Now in theory it still sorta kinda works. The problem is that the software does not ,and the buttons do not do what they should do. IE - the internet back button goes forward and middle click goes back. Due to Razer not updating the software I can no longer use it, so it's no good. It's also terribly worn.

Corsair Raptor gaming something. This lasted about two weeks before the scroll stopped working. It wasn't just the one either, my wife's developed a fault after about a month where the cable snapped away from the plug.

Razer Abysus. This lasted about ten weeks before the wires snapped from the plug. This time I finally decided I had had enough with Razer and decided to see if I could get it repaired or replaced. They said "Go back to your retailer" which I did, who then said "Go to Razer". It never got replaced.

Razer Naga Expert. I bought this new and boxed from a guy on Overclockers and for the last three months it has worked superbly. I don't need the extra buttons, but do like the size and shape of it and where the forward and back internet buttons are located. It took a while to get used to, but now I am really digging it.

Only, it's failed. The right click button mech is no longer reliable, so when I try and right click in Dying Light to look down my scope it just keeps jumping in and out and makes me feel rather ill.

OK, so that's pretty much the mouse situation since 2008. There have been others that I have had and tried, but none were very comfortable. The most honorable mouse of mention in the last seven years is a Steel Series Sensei is it? well I gave that to my wife when I got the Naga and she has fallen in love with it so I can't take it back.

OK so I need a mouse and I need one bad. I don't mind paying up to a hundred and fifty pounds for one but I don't want a movie theme tie in and I don't want to be paying for anything other than sheer quality.

I know a hundred and fifty pounds may seem an awful lot of money, but I feel like a king ready to blurt out " A mouse, a mouse, my kingdom for a mouse"

Now for the obvious reason I don't want another Razer. Razer are the MacDonalds of the mouse world and make things that are like Apple products, sans the build quality. Please don't tell me I am hating on a company who have had over three hundred quid out of me in seven years yet, can't seem to provide me with what counts, a working mouse.

How about the RAT? it looks awfully uncomfortable though... Please bear in mind I have small hands, so don't want a honking great monstrosity that looks like the end of a golf club (a driver).

Please help me here if you have had a mouse for what can be considered to be a fair amount of time (three years?) and used and abused it yet, it still works..

IMO look at Corsair, Mionix or Zowie i know you don't have those two listed but i have heard good things about Mionix & Zowie mice maybe a EVGA mouse too

I had a rat9 for about 3 years its a solid mouse bit on the pricey side but great none the less, I've been through many mice since then currently on a technet m009 and even though its like only £20 - £40 I have to say its a keeper, one of the best performing mice I've owned, had it a few months now and still feels like new. I use it 24/7 photoshop, blender, 3DS ect ect, that's a lot of clicks and movement each day.

Yeah the Sensei I got for £25 has been the best mouse I have used out of all of them so far tbh. I might take a look at Steelseries' other mice as well as Mionix.

Edit. It was a Kana, not a Sensei. I'm currently looking at the Sensei wireless and whilst expensive if it's anywhere near as good or better as the Kana then I think I will go for that :)

I have both the Sensei and the Rival. Prefer the Rival's shape and feel. Don't use the extra features on the Sensei much.
PCWorld stocks a fair few gaming mice these days - handy for trying the shape in your hand.
 
I've been using Roccat for years and their products have always been top notch. I can't recommend their mice enough. I've used a Kova +, a Kone XTD and right now im using a more simple Kone Pure Optical. They should have something to fit whatever you use it for i.e. the Kone Pure is fairly straightforward (not loaded with buttons like a WoW mouse), the Kone XTD is more feature heavy and their top of the line mice (the Tyon and Nyth) are packed with buttons. The Nyth in particular is cleaning up in all of the reviews i've seen, because of its customization options. I'd take a look

After hearing that the scroll wheel collapses on the Kone I can't say I'm really considering them tbh. Both the original and the second release had that issue. Not good enough, if another one fails I'm going to hunt down the company owner and bloody throttle them with it !

I can usually tell just by looking at them tbh. The shape says it all. I don't like the big heavy ones with the "scoops"? kinda reminds me of a golf driver.

Their early ones had that problem but I haven't heard of any issues since they brought in the Titan wheel on all of their mice. I had a bit of an issue with the Kova but the more recent two have been bulletproof.

It does look quite nice but was looking for something a little more high end if I'm honest dude.
 
dont know if this is any help but ive had quite a few mice and like yourself ive been cursed with small hands but i brought an evga torq x10 about 6 or 7 months ago and its been brill even my 5 year old daughter uses it you can add wieghts to it and also the front part can move up and down with the include torx allen key might be woth considering

my Zowie mouse is the best mouse I've ever owned. Well worth the price. They're not flashy looking but the build quality is excellent. I have an FK1 in white. Logitech are also worth a look.
 
I have had a SteelSeries Sensei for year's no problems its a great mouse it has a nice simplistic look great fell and performance. I would recommend it. :)

Also there is a wireless version I have the wired as the wireless was not out when i got the Sensei

Yeah I must say I do think they look rather well made.

Logitech MX anywhere (button failed),
Logitech NX anywhere (button failed),
Logitech G602(died 2x)
now i own Steelseries Sensei wireless, must say very good mouse. Plus now it goes for more reasonable prices (got mine from Dabs for £74). That fancy stand is total peace of crap that takes up space.. but on the good side, always shows battery status (red/yellow/green). Battery is good, and if u drop it into stand when u not using it, it handless everything like a boss!
I play league of Legends so i get a lot of rage moments :D mouse gets some heavy fingers if u know what i mean :> and still goes strong 6+ months now. Buttons work flawlessly! Build quality and materials used are definitely premium. Stand is all aluminium.

Yeah that's the one I am looking at. I really, truly don't mind paying for quality but it's really hard to find a decent mouse, even at high prices !

They all just seem to be made to be thrown away after a year.
