Hey guys,

Just recently got myself a shiny new M60 mouse from corsair

But I think my O2 plastic mouse mat is getting quite old, considering I can feel bumps on the surface o.O

So what mouse mats would you guys recommend? I've never bought any gaming surface mats or anything so im total noob when it comes to mouse mats

Not looking to spend much on one, about £15-£25, they also need to be good performance wise

Many thanks in advance

Steelseries QcK all the way! I have one and it's absolutely awesome. Just pick whatever one fits your needs perfectly, all variants of the QcK are fantastic

Thanks for the quick replies everyone

Are these pads best in terms of performance wise? Looking for a mouse mat that will help when gaming

Oh yes, they're amazing for gaming, imo they're the best mousepads on the market atm because they're so versatile and amazing value for money

The cloth surface is super smooth and is a perfect match for pretty much any modern mouse. I don't really like hard surfaced pads, i find my mouse is much more responsive on my QcK compared to my old plastic pad

depends on what you use it for.

i prefer hard mats myself, and right now im running my rat 3 on SS 9hd. great pad

if you prefer cloth/soft then probably something like qck will be fine.

do not buy gel ones off ebay, buy only branded stuff if you want it to last

Never used a gel one, so I dont think im gonna even take a glance at them, but yeah I will be getting one that I hope will last long. Probs the QCK

Depends really on what you like or are used to.

There are two main types of surfaces cloth or plastic style.

The plastic style ones allow you to move your mouse very quickly and smoothly and are very easy to clean and are hard wearing.

Now the cloth ones are more designed for precision rather than speed but get a good one and it can be just as fast.

So cloth is best for accuracy imo and plastic style is best for fast paced.

The next question is size is does matter. Bigger mouse mats allow you to drop your sensitivity in shooters which helps with accuracy so once again this depends on your needs and desk size. If you have the space for a large mouse mat then go for it because youll never go off the edge of a large mat but it will take up lots of room on your desk.

From my experience I have used a razer goliathus and a steel series qck heavy xxl cloth mats. Both are good mats but there is differences.

I found the razer to be more textured and dirt built up easy on it then the steelseries. I found small hairs would lodge in the perforations on the mat and would ruin my mouses tracking. The razer as well did not last very long either, I think it was little over a year of use before it started causing issues with tracking as the mat started to make little bobbles and tiny hair like fibres on the surface but it was cheaper than my steelseries.

Now my steelseries has lasted over a year now without any issues other than dirt build up but it is very easy to clean. Just use a damp cloth and leave it to air dry. The surface is smooth but resistant and is very large. Think larger than a laptop, so I never fall off the edge in extreme movements. The thicker mat means little bumps on my wooden desk dont go through so the surface is quite smooth and flat. This is the best mousemat I have used and I would highly recommend it still in perfect condition even though I use my pc for hours everyday and my aim in css and csgo among others is still crisp and sharp.

That said that mat may not suit your needs or your style. I recommend to unplug your mouse and bring it to the shop and ask can you test the mat. Some are in tubes and can be easily taken out. Your mouse may react different to different styles of mats. My old logitech g5 felt slow on my steelseries and hard to move but my imperator moves smoothly.

Hope this helps.

Cloth surface mouse mat FTW!! I will never go back to using hard ones. On cloth, the mouse glides so smoothly, you really notice the difference

I will be going for a cloth one then I think, Im mostly a FPS gamer anyway, and I don't really like plastic ones imo. And I hear that hard mats make the skids wear out quicker? or is this on the cloth mats?
