Nearly a new system

Hi, i've been recommended by Idnet Jeff (a fellow idnetter) to come here and post my problems. I'm looking to sell my current pc (skt a sempron 2600+, k7vt4a+, 6600gt 256mb) and get new parts. I figured it would be best to sell this pc as nearly everything on it is budget oriented, which isn't good for a 1337 gamer like me (i wish). im looking for a am2 x2 system (after the price drop) with a decent gfx card. i was going to get a xfx 7900gt extreme but now im wondering if i should go into the strange world of ati. if i would go nvidia i would get the m2n32 but nothing is confirmed yet.

how much do you reckon i could get for this pc (maximum)

ati or nvidia

ive got around £300 atm plus whatever i get for this pc, i could save up a bit more but i dont really want to. do you reckon i should sell pc parts and recover anything i can?

just fill me with ideas

The 6600GT is a pretty decent card but for suire it'll be on AGP

Sell it all (you'll get a decentish amount if you ebay it) and then update this thread with your entire budget and what you use your PC for and for sure we'll spec you up a very nice PC (on whatever budget) and get ya some places to buy it

i would rather get an estimate on how much i can sell it for, as i use my pc a lot, and sell it all as 1, unless ill get more for selling seperates. i use it for gaming mostly but other family members use it for internet and the usualy crap. i dont d video encoding so the main priority is gaming, cheers

ill buy it in parts rather than ready made as its cheaper ya

how much can i get for:

skt a sempron 2600+ and asrock k7vt4a+

xpertvision 6600gt 256mb (probably best sold alone)*

1 gb of ram (or should i sell 512mb of elixir and 512mb of unbranded)

400w psu and case??

120gb ide hdd seperate?

msi dvd rom drive and aopen cd rewriter

please advise me how to group these together for the maximum selling price

maybe i should try to sell it locally and see how much i get for it

look up your parts on ebay and see how much they are goin for tbh

ebay is rather good for that mefinks,i do it all the time for price referencing

ive come to the conclusion i can sell the whole thing for around £250

Yeah if you get 250 + 300 that6 would do you for a decent gaming PC

think that's about right but not too up on old tech soz

300ish, ive got £250 already and my birthday is next week so ill get 100+ for that. £650-£800 i can probably get in total

shall i get an crossfire based motherboard or sli (basically ati or nvidia)

i know ati have an advantage of hdl at the same time as AA but they both do round about the same job right?

Yeah they're both about the same

Single card ATI's cards are faster at the moment tho
