No offence fella, but bad company 2 was the start of the downfall of the series on PC.
While it was a good game, it just didn't *feel* like a true battlefield (at least to me).
'rush' in bad company 2 was great, because that was the primary design of the maps. However they have shoehorned it into maps now that just don't work and the gameplay suffers hugely as a result.
The 'close quarters' maps from BF3 *worked* because they were specifically designed for it, but in bf4 they've just used smaller parts of the big maps and it doesn't work it's all fish-in-barrel style highest-player-wins gameplay there's no sense of movement or flow to the way the capture points are placed. (does that make any sense).
They're trying to do too much with too little. The maps are poorly designed and very rinse-repeat (just look at the naval ones for example). The netcode is complete trash. I had a look at metro the other night, on bf4.. complete disaster. Now I'm not blowing my own trumpet but I could do very well on metro on bf3 and due to the netcode it's practically unplayable on 4. You can't pop out shoot and get in cover because you get pegged when you're behind it.
I even had an instance where I shot my sniper rifle, and switched to pistol and the sniper rifle didn't register that i'd fired it!! No bullet, no shot just swapped to my pistol and got dead. Utterly stupid.
I don't understand HOW they screwed it up so badly, and more to the point, why they haven't got the damn thing fixed so long after release.
They've completely lost my trust and my custom, I won't be purchasing another battlefield from Dice.
