Dunno what to do with it now lol, cost me a fortune but is now sat in the corner lookng sorry for itself lol

cpu - athlon fx51

mobo - asus sk8v

ram - 1Gb eec reg corsair xms

wc kit - asetek antartica

sc - audigy 2 gamer

psu - enermax (i think)

dvd - plextor 708a

case display - matrix orbital double size

case - sav row blackbird

As you can tell back in the day it was a bi of a beast and i loved it!

Anyone any thoughts as to what to do with it? I did think about ebay but the fee's are extortionate

Shame the board's AGP, as with a decent card in there it would of made a very nice LAN rig, or WCed HTPC if you could stomach the full-size case in the living room. I would suggest keeping it as a backup or dedicated server for gaming or downloading. It may come in handy, it's always nice to have a working, internet-capable rig when you're doing a new build so you're not stuck if something doesn't work.

You wouldn't see the benefits on ebay if you ask me, you're looking at the £100 I'd say which sounds criminal but there is absolutley no upgrade path with those components :(

Yeah it was a great system and a cracking case for watercooling tbh.

I might put it in the for sale bit on here and see if anyone wants it.

I realise i've lost a fortune on it but thats the nature of the game.

Don't mind too much if someone was gonna use it

Those parts suck balls, especially the MOBO, but I'd keep it. The case is really nice, so just buy new components, but you can still use the case, hard drives, dvd burner, and the good stuff. Also, those light blue liquid cooling tubes look kinda weird all cramped up. :p

lmao you are a moron, since when did water feed power to a hdd??

As for the parts sucking balls you obviously have no clue wtf you are talking about.

Rewind 3 years and that thing would be brutally fast! :D I like it, though it appears to be lacking a top! Nice rig, even if you got something like the 3850 AGP if you cna get one cheap just to get your old prode and joy going again, and as said be a nice LAN machine since it does look s*** hot still

lol it does have a top, You not fancy it ;-)

I have about £4 to my name...! Besides FINALLY got the last few pieces of my rig coming today in the post :D Make a post on the wanted and for sale to see roughly what people would pay for that, its still some good hardware to someone

out of interest where about in Scotland you from?

It's in the for sale section mate. I'm in fife

I would buy it, but I would need to buy a further 2GB DDR registered ram, a reasonable HD and a 3850, which I reckon would be £45-50 + £30-35 + £80-90 (depending on where from) and I could build a decent budget PC for that price (5000+, 4GB DDR2, 780G and a 9600GSO/GT).

Nice rig though, its from around the same time as my old rig (4000+, S8NSLI Deluxe) just with an AGP instead of PCIex and at that time I bet that would have been mega fast.

Worse news, to upgrade to 320GB HD, 3850HD GPU and 2GB (more) memory, cheapest I can see it being is £193 + the price you want for this...would that PSU even support that card?

i bet if you bought a hard drive and graphics card, and threw them in with it, got it working properly, with an OS, and kept the same FS price, you might have a few takers, just a friendly hint :)

I wouldn't mind buying my own components if I bought it, its just that its not economical to buy and buy the upgrades. I have a spare XP lying around, I could easily buy a graphics chip for about £90, and an HD (of the size I need) for £35. The only difficult bit is the registered DDR which is about £65 from Lambdatek.

I can't see it being economical to put in an HD, GPU and OS and still sell for £150, and I can't see it being economical for a buyer unless there was a big price drop, which is a huge shame for this great tech.

Yeah - get hold of some RAM, a HD, a GPU and install an OS. Get a picture of the computer running with the sidepanel and top on, make sure there's some nice cable management and no dust inside. You want to attract the right audience. :)

I always strive to have the best...now thanks to corsair, tekshop and a courier, by tomorrow I will have it.

besides, it is (just) possible to use 4GB so why not go the whole hog? I have two free slots on my board.
