My Obsidian 900D watercooled build

Hey all,

First time posting on this forum and thought I would share my build with you. I first attempted watercooling with a coolermaster HAF 932 a year or so ago maybe 2... time flies. My second attempt was a bit more ambitious and is housed in the insanely big Corsair Obsidian 900D.

Its a dual-loop setup and although some of the hardware is quite old now it's still a beast of a rig imo and performs extremely well.

Criticism permitted

Hope my pics are ok :)

nice, very clean. what's that thing hanging on the back? fan controller?

It's a mini inverter for the white cold cathodes.

That's a lot of fans. Is it loud?

It's certainly not loud. They are the 1450rpm gentle typhoons always at full speed which make a gentle hum rather than a whine. You can barely hear the system when gaming at a low'ish volume.

Looks really good, but cable sleeving would take the build to the next level and the gpu loop is slightly whiter than the cpu loop

The man from delmonte he say YES! Very neat & tidy indeed, and massive especially the way it makes the bricks in the background look teeny tiny

Kudos to you sir.

I'm a little late replying here, only 9 month lol but wanted to say thanks for the kind comments from you guys. :D

Yeah, Im pretty annoyed about the CPU loop. It's the tubing that has discoloured as the coolant is milky white just like the other loop. I changed the coolant shortly after these pics were taken and it looks like it has prevented it from getting any worse (should have done the tubing aswell... that's a job for next time I drain the loop).

I also did a little cable sleeving myself with some carbon fibre effect sleeving (the GPU's and the 24pin ATX connector are now sleeved).

Have you thought about using coloured tubing like this

Then you won't get a problem with discoloured tubing.

Have you also thought about going with a single loop to maximise the cooling the rads give.

Well, nice build overall, but I really don't like your loop mate, it's a bit to messy for me.
If you wanna do a dual loop you have to do it properly.
Single loop with your setup would look much cleaner.

I didn't want to be the one to say it but I agree with raVen, the rig would benefit from having just a single loop. If you like how it looks and are happy with your rig then ignore us and keep it how it is but if you were trying to think of ways to make it better then I think a single loop would help IMHO.

Yep I've thought about both and will definately be swapping out the clear tubing for white coloured although I'm not in any hurry. I did think of just throwing some dye in and be done with it for another year but don't really want to go that route to prevent any unwanted staining. I will also have to think about how to re-route the loop for a single loop with as short a run as possible me thinks.

To be honest I kinda like lots of tubing on show to fill the massive the space the case has and hiding it away is a bit of a waste im my opinion but thats just me.

Thanks for the comments guys I will bear them in mind when I finally get around to draining it again.

Overall the system should run a tiny bit cooler using a single loop as you will max the rads and also extra pumps add extra heat to the system too (even though the amount is small).
