My new HP EliteBook

Sometimes I still love good old eBay!

I got an off lease HP EliteBook 6930p with all the trimmings for $275 shipped.

All aluminum and magnesium alloy construction makes this thing SOLID. No creaky joints or cheap laptop sounds when you pick it up from the edge and the screen is open. Definitely on par with MacBook Pro construction.

I purchased this for the sole purpose of putting BackTrack on it and doing whatever it is that I do with BT.

If you can snag one up with all of the goodies for the right price then jump on it. I waited a couple of weeks to find one with the specs that I wanted at the price that I wanted to spend and sure enough one came along sooner or later!

What an awesome deal. Have never used backtrack either so will do some playing with that.

BackTrack is quite literally the bees knees for doing naughty things that can land you in the slammer.

Or for penetration testing like it was designed for?

Will be perfect to run against a web app I've had designed. I've "hacked" it myself 10 different ways now including SQL injection. Had to school the web designer on sanitizing input after our site was replaced with porn of the gay variety.

Edit: I'm assuming your naughty things are for the greater good?

Mmmmmmm SQL injection. Such a great thing. If only more software was susceptible it would be the golden ticket, lol.

I flex the pentesting portion of BackTrack to it's fullest and that is my primary use for it. I got tired of running it in a VM on my desktop and wanted to be able to hit the road and do some wardriving.

The greater good, always, of course, uh huh.... haha. The greater good in my eyes at least.
