nothing against AMD, as you can see i have a AMD GPU but there processors are 4 years behind the times. My i3 at 4.4Ghz is probably just as fast as a stock 955. intel run alot cooler and there chips are just better made.

Run cooler? i7's are hot running chips with HT on and if you run both chips at the same voltage the AMD chips WILL be a lot cooler.

And i3's are BAD.....anyone who buys a DUAL CORE in this day and age is a bit silly. Especially how cheap Quads are these days.

Are you a gamer or one of these sad people that just run benchmarks all day?

No am a gamer, not come across a game that need 4 cores to date and probaly wont see one for some time. At the end of the day AMD sucks and intel are the best that why they sell alot more.

i have the core i3 chip in my imac, and i have an amd main rig, the intel is more refined, but the amd would probably run cooler

now thats settled, lets all move on and stop the arguments?

nice looking rig btw, what parts did you buy seperate? or was it all from aria pre-built?

You utter n00b. AMD's are cooler but they also cant stand high heat and will crap out a lot sooner than Intels.

Although an i3 will hit 4.4 with the right chip and not hit 70c even with a cheap cooler.

i3's are absolute win, when overclocked they will cream an AMD quad. Dont start rowing about a product unless you know enough about it because uncle tom will shoot you down. The i3 is an absolute cracker of a CPU for the money. Go and look at the £600 rig I chucked together, it had an i3 in it.

Oh look it's faster then the i3... As more and more games start to use 4 threads the more the i3 will fall behind cheaper AMD quad cores.

RAW clock speed will only get you so far, And anyone with common sense will tell you that...

And for the part I bolded out, AMD CPU's overclock as well

let us sum this up in layman terms...

two runners:

• a 100M sprinter
  
• a marathon runner
  

both can run faster than me, and most of the people i know, over a 1500M race.

but, i would put my money on the marathon runner every time

you get the mobo, cpu, cpu cooler and ram pre built everything else i got separately. it also comes overclocked but i go a bit more out of it.
