My i7 rig...to sell as one or as many?

I'm off on hols in the not so distant future and am contemplating on selling some of my i7 rig to drum up a bit of spending money (will prolly buy an i5 a while after I return).

I have a Biostar TPower mobo, Corsair Dominator GT (2000Mhz) Ram, i7 920 CPU and an XFX 4870x2. The question is, in the interest of getting a reasonable wad of cash for it while also shifting it fairly sharpish. Do I:

A) Slap it in a case, put a 1kw PSU in there etc etc, and then flog it for something in the region of £700-800??

or

B) List every single item individually?

The first option has it's pros, less costs on postage, but less chance of actually selling. Adding a 1kw psu will bump the price up too, not really needed. IMO, i'd split it on here, if no luck then ebay it all, will definately go on there.

Dya think £800 would be a good deal for a system of that spec? The PSU would probably be something i've got knocking around and the case a fairly basic steel jobbie. Should be able to throw in a 300gb hdd to, to make it a 'complete' system.

Yeah, £800 seems fair enough to be honest. I don't know though, everything I've ever tried always sells better when it's split, you could just list it with the option for both and see where it gets you...

Ebay, you'd have no trouble though for £800, complete system based on i7 with a 4870x2, and a 1kw psu, loads of numbers there to excite them.

Apart from the immediate injection of £800 or so of cash, I can't see the financial bonus in selling the i7 kit for a %age of the retail and spending cash on a set of i5 new kit that isn't best priced.

I'd be tempted, if I needed to, to sell everything except the i7 components.

But ofc that doesn't get u the wonderful holiday spondulics.

Hehe, aye. Tbh i5, i7..potato,potato. I just want something new to play with for a few days before I forget what I've got in my machine and continue using it like a typrewriter :p

I've been looking forward to getting some kick-arse AMD gear. For a change and the experience. Chances are it wouldn't necessarily hurt the pocket either.

(then look around at all the 775 gear still here and stab the hand that presses the checkout button with a sharp fork)

Be nice to have a full on AMD build, with the best it can presently offer - and since u'r used to the 4870x2, u may be fortun8 to be at a time when the 5890 or something is out. - add Win7 to it - whole new experience. Nice sexeh case with loops...

hehe

Cheers for all the interest and advice guys. About 5 mins after me putting this thread up an anonymous bidder stepped forward to purchase the entire system. :worship:

Now to find a nice little camera to spend some of the $$$ on as the DSLR is a bit too overboard for taking around the pool :p

Was walking about the beach in Benidorm a couple of years back with my DSLR, bikini tops seemed to jump out of bags straight on to breasts as soon as I got within eye sight !

Get a bigger lense then :p

Beach camo? Gonna cover yourself in sand? With a suitably huge lens you'd just need a tent within a mile of the beach.
