Puts noob hat on - whadaya mean chipset drivers?

See when I insert a blank dvd to burn its not recognising it...

This usually only happens to me when the dvd is scratched or covered in fingerprints. Either that or cheap media.

chipset drivers

they're drivers, that make all the stuff on your chipset work

IDE, SATA, USB (altho windows makes that work anyway), Ethernet, and others..:)

problem fixed :)

close thread Mods..

Just for interest sake was this under XP or Vista? Was it a corrupted cd-rom driver issue (i.e filter driver was installed that is causing the device stack for your burner to not work) where you had to remove upper and lower registry filters? What did you do to fix it so others may benefit if they run into the same problem themselves?
