My cpu dosen´t start! can you help me?!

I chaged the psu and unplugged all the cables except the 24 and 8 pin that conects the motherboard. take it off all the memory that i have, the 2 gpu´s and nothing.....zero......no luck!!!!

When you connect the psu and switch it on from the mains, does you motherboard LED's light up to indicate that its receiving power?

Are any of the pins on the cpu, if its an AMD system, or on the motherboard, if its an Intel rig bent?

Check this and re-seat the cpu, put in one ram stick or two depending on the minimum requirement of you motherboard, put just one GPU and its power cable, connect 24pin and 8pin cpu power and turn the rig on

You mentioned you tool off all the cables except the 8pin and 24pin, check to see if the case power switch is connected correctly to the motherboard. If your motherboard has a power button on it, you could try an test to see if your computer boots up?

i have a corsair h100 that the pump stopped and i had to RMA to corsair and they send me a new one.

i monted the new one and when i push the button to start the "machine" it didn´t ....so i though that was the psu and i made the famous test like "robbing a car thing" the green touch the black and i was right!! for some reason the psu was broken!

so i bought a new one ( a AEROCOOL strike x 1100w) and the "machine" still refuses to start!

Now i am in a dilemma, it´s the cpu or the mobo!?

yes dipzy! it light up and i made all the tips that you said!

this is the "machine" - Asus X58 sabertooth

- Intel I7 920 C0

- 12GB OF RAM

- 2 GTX 460 SLI

- 3 seagate 500gb raid 0

- PSU 1100w AEROCOOL STRIKE-X

- Scyth Kaze Master Pro

- Corsair 650D

Could be CPU if the motherboard LED's Light up?

You could also try taking the CMOS battery out, waiting 10 or so seconds, put battery back in and see if that works.

Its strange that it won't power up because the pump of the h100 had failed before

I had my processor to 4.0 ghz and when the pump stoped i wasn´t home so the cpu suffered a overheat and maybe caused a overvoltage that bearned the psu!

i don´t now!!!..... i am lost! if i had another cpu i could make the final test and discard things....but in this situation it´s dificult to me!!

In that case, it definitely the CPU, without that water pumping around the loop, its not too long before temps on the CPU and then trouble.

Anyone you know friends, family who could borrow you a CPU if they have a 1366 computer?

I know the feeling mate, i had a PSU go out on me randomly, it was working fine and then BAMN, it popped. Found it hard to get a replacement with money being very tight.

" money being very tight" thats the biggest of my problems!!

Maybe in 3 or4 months time i can buy a new cpu!

About my friends and my family they only have AMD and Intel 755, 1156 and 1155 sockets! ... the only thing I can do is be patient!

Every way, thank you very much DIPZY for the time you spent on my problem!
