Multi GPU (WITH A CATCH)

I want to add another GPU, but not another 6990, rather a 5770. The reason for this that I assume will work because I have never tried this or even gone about trying it is using the 5770 to power a second monitor for random tasks. Will this work?

should be no reason it wont. Your not talking about xfiring it with the other just simply to run a monitor should work in theory

Yea no xfire. I dont plan on the 5770 assisting my 6990 in any way.

ima gunna give it a shot. Im more worried about driver instability than anything else though.

yes but I would like a totally separate GPU for another monitor and leave my 6990 to do hardcore dual GPU stuff.
