MSI's RTX 3080 Ti SURPIM X Pictured - The Ti is coming!

Waiting In Line

Gamers are camping out! Noticed early this rainy morning about 40-50 people standing in-line outside at Micro Center. Pushing and shuffing and no cutting in-line.Thought about those possibly looking for jobs being offered! Not so! The word leaked out that a new 30-series GPU shipment was readied in the aisles. Online sales not accepted. One card sale per customer. Scalpers would purchase more than 10+ units to make upwards of $10,000+ in one single day.

No Micro Center MSRP pricing was offered and retail prices are still close to double and nobody really cared in order to getting their hands on almost any card. A store employee later said that over 60 people were waiting in line since 6AM and some even came with lawn chairs. The store had only 10 (3080's) GPUs in stock and for many potential customers it was their third or fourth visit in recent weeks. With this I wonder why manufactures even advertise and tease their new GPU products when they simply cannot even be purchased by the man on the street!

As GamersNexus said in their recent videos, because they can and cause it will sell. At the end of the day, Nvidia is a company and they do business. If they release new cards, they know it will sell and they will make more revenue and hence more money.

At the end of the day, that’s all that matters to them unfortunately. I think that both Nvidia and AMD are very happy, seeing as every CPU and GPU they are able to manufacture, is sold. That is what every company wants - their products are being sold.

They don’t really care to whom, as long as they bring in money and they make their shareholders happy.
