Loving the look of that board. Finally some good AM3+ boards are appearing.

This would go nicely with the FX8320e!

What is up with names all the time?... "FXA" (For eXtreme Amateurs)?...
Never really liked the chipset names of AMD's chips too. '990FX' sounds like a skateboarding trick to me. Why MSI added an 'A' to that is a mystery though.

Seems a pointless motherboard since AMD abandoned AM3+ anyway, and there are plenty of better ones allready knocking around.
(990FXA is just basically less pcie lanes than 990FX)

Sounds like companies start to let kindergardens to come up with names and they just pick one up randomly out of a bowl lol...

Yawno. Unless it's cheap it will no doubt get its ass handed to it by the Saber and Crosshair. There's just no beating those boards, apart from on price.

MSI don't exactly have a good track record with AMD boards either, with many of their boards bursting into flames when running an 8 core OC.

All I can say is where the fudge are the MATX boards. If you're listening, MSI, I can absolutely promise you that a decent 6 or 8 phase board that's MATX and has a decent heatsink on the fets would sell by the bucketload.

Asrock have just released a half decent looking MATX board for AM3+ and that's where the money is. Mid range PCs don't need to be huge and because they're all ATX people have to buy a full sized case which usually works out much dearer than a MATX.

Sort it out !!!

MSI has failed to include an m.2 Socket which would have been rather neat. The cooling solution on that thing looks solid enough, and let's hope this board has support for the 220W chips out there. Good audio implementation as always and as usual with the newer boards. 1150 codec with dedicated op-amp. The networking solution will make a lot of people cringe since the Killer is rather infamous for causing terrible problems.
