MSI teases RGB-free MEG X570 UNIFY motherboard - An "All Black Beast" from MSI

I've not dabbled in RGB yet, can this not be turned off anyway?
IF so I can't really see much point to it, the cost savings of taking away the RGB elements are not going to be seen by the consumer due to all the bureaucracy, administration and all of the behind the scenes work that we don't see. I'd guess that due to the popularity of RGB, the actual hardware is extremely cheap, The underlying software is already in place and making this is costing MSI money?

In many cases, it can be disabled, but why pay extra for something you don't even like? The cost savings can definitely be seen by the customer if they really make it noticeably cheaper.

IF is the big word here. They may be priced the same but I will be shocked if its less. There are so many costs involved in releasing what is officially a different SKU (different product code so will need all the certifications re done, copywrite protection ect) that I expect these to cost the same if not more as the demand nowadays will be "niche".

Long ago I'd agree. But now with so many base components supplied with RGB by default, it would become more costly to make a "one off" line of items without the RGB.
