MSI RTX 2080 Ti Lightning Pictured at CES

After Asus' Matrix 2080ti, I literally said meh at this card. So yesteryear, regular fin stack and a heatsink, heh.

Jokes aside, I think it will be amazing to see how the two fare against one another this time round. Traditional beefy air cooler at its best versus actually legitimate innovation.

I'd take this over the ASUS card any day. Sometimes you don't need to fix something that isn't broken. This "regular fin stack and heatsink" will still perform better than most gimmicky looking cards out there.

Just a shame they made it gold...

Nasty IMO.

Forcing your customers into one colour is absolutely mind boggling, in this day and age. Black and grey. BLACK AND GREY, then let the LEDs do the talking. That way you alienate absolutely no one, and every one can make your stuff work in their build.

Asus were on the right track with their black cards and coloured "stickers" to add afterwards. You could even spray the recess where they should have gone, with any colour you wanted.

But they blew it now and went childish. Their matrix card to me, is just so terrible. I really do question the mentality of some people who like these tacky designs now.

But yeah, gold ... is just not good. Only build I have ever seen in gold was by Snef, and it was white and gold, not black.

I've seen this thing in action (Nexus) and it's positively vile.

It's bad enough, then the RGB gets going and it's a real horror show.

I don't understand it (*well I do) their last Lightning was absolutely gorgeous. Black and white, and the white was RGB so you could make it any colour you wanted.

*they're obviously on the Titan RTX bandwagon, but seriously gold is almost impossible to work into any build.
