MSI reveals its lineup of custom RTX 40 SUPER series GPUs

Indeed, very minimalistic, clean and professional design.

Aye. Now you would think they would have looked at the FE versions of the 30 series and on, and thought "Hey we are missing a trick here !" but nope. Woofter dragaons and anything else tacky and dumb they can tack on.

To take the FE and actually make it sexier is genius. We need more of this, even if it's plastic.

DO WANT.

Gotta admit and say that that design is really sexy. That is most likely the nicest, cleanest, minimalistically and sexy backplate I've ever seen.

Kinda surprising it took an partner this long to figure it out. Well done MSI, well done.
Thinking this design will probably become their top seller honestly.

I think that is about the only GPU I would not want to vertical mount to hide the gaudy back plate.

Yeah, she's nice. If they don't take the pee on price I may just be tempted.

Exactly my thoughts, would be a crime really to do so in all honestly.

It has to be like that. Remember, one is a blower and blows out the end and the main one is a blow through.

Oh it's not that it's i don't like the grill part, if I'd designed it then it would have taken intake from the right end of the card with a small grill, but tbh it doesn't matter much unless you had it upright anyways.

these super cards are actually worth something in truth what they should have been the first time around.

So i expect people are hoping for the older versions to drop in price but i'd still avoid them myself.

However the next bunch really isn't far away with this type of higher price product.

Still with my current life events i'm not going to be getting anything for ages now, just glad i got the PC to it's current stage before now.

It's still nice to see companys thinking outside the box a little as MSI really need to revamp even the gaming brand line up, as effective as they are they just end up getting boring and old in terms of taste and style.

That looks like a whacking great pile of heat sink to me? I suppose reviews will clarify, but it does say that it's alu in the gumph pic.

As for the older ones dropping in price? they already have dude.

If I could have gotten one for £999 at launch I would have probably done so. I mean afterall that's only about £350 more than I paid for a 6950XT.

Of course now? it's too late. Why would I pay that for an inferior card to what is coming at the same price?

The 4070Ti has dropped too, but is of no use to me at all. It's about even with the 6950XT, and at the time was £200+ more expensive. With 12gb VRAM F no.

Yea thats the issue with nvidia you need to wait 2 years before the value is there.

I'm still happy with my card more than happy. I was surprised just how demanding alan wake 2 is to run at max but it's playable for me which isn't bad at all, obviously with FSR2 but i'll give it a proper play once FSR3 is added it's starting to happen now.

I think nvidia have learned that the vram is a big seller now so i doubt the midrange up with have less than 16gb from now on and with gdddr7 it'll be easier for them.

AMD need a good run come rdna 4 as next bunch is rdna3.5

If i was buying now with a sensible head then 7800XT and if money not issue top card, but reality is i'll just have to keep using what i have until it's unplayable.

even them drops in price like you say they need another £1-200 off to even be concidered at all, but the vram is the issue and UE5 needs it.

Alan Wake ran lovely on my PC. Obviously not at anywhere near the max settings, but I didn't care because it is still stunning.

Which has reminded me... I got past the hard bit with the fat guy and Alan has washed up, so I really must get back into playing it. I got distracted with speakers and then Christmas !

I would imagine as usual Nvidia have timed it perfectly, and stopped shipping cards. As such? I doubt there will even be many left when the S come out. Then again none of that matters, 'cause like I said I ain't buying an inferior card now.

TBH I doubt I will get one within 6 months any way, given the other cards I have are all still kicking major ass. Will see what happens with RT and HL2 etc.

I think the huge positive I feel that is happening over the last few years regardless of the RT performance vs nvidia, is that AMD's cards are improving as is the software so over time it's very good as good enough at them price points vs the best at nvidias price points is all most need.

The card that won the price and performance for me is the 4090, but i've not got that kind of money, the rest of the stack when they came out simply no thanks.

CP2077 perfectly playable even with path tracing at max for me.

Alan wake 2 playable but to actually enjoy it fully just turn path tracing off or to low.

It's an unusual game as sure it looks nice but i can only think it's the partical effects with the fog at the beginning that is tanking it. Thou as decent as it looks it's strange that it's as demanding as it is.

Stalker 2 is the next game i'll get i was almost going to get dead island 2 but i'd already spent on others. My concern with stalker 2 is it's most likely going to be even more demanding to run, of course lower settings here and there fine.

Just i feel many of us over the coming year or 2 have a simple choice upgrade or lower down really depends on your preference tbh.
