MSI R6950 Twin Frozor 2 OC Edition 2GB

Hey guys,

I've looked for this answer via google but no one has provided me with a answer.

I've just plunged for an i5-750, MSI p55-GD80 and a MSI R6950 Twin Frozor 2 OC Edition 2GB (From a Pentium dual core e2160, XFX 680i LT SLI, GTS 250. WINNING!)

Anyway, I've tried overclocking this card using msi afterburner. I cannot move the core slider beyond 840mhz from the default 810mhz; the same for the memory. Neither can I Adjust the other setting like voltage or fan speed.

Any ideas?

I'm using the latest drivers from ATI as the MSI sight had difficulties at the time.

Cheers guys,

Lee.

In settings, check "unlock voltage control+unlock voltage monitoring",apply settings and restart afterburner. Now you should have control.

Great thanks for that.

I can only slide the core from 810mhz to 840mhz, as in the slider wont slide any more, is this the cards overclock potential? The same with the memory 1250mhz and can only slide to 1325mhz.

Is bios modding needed to reach higher?

ta.

Try with sapphire trixx,in my opinion its a better oc-tool for amd/ati radeon gpu.

Your 6970 should be able to get 1000/1500 oc.

Cheers pal. That worked a treat.

Happy to help yah
