Is the brown PCB really noticable? If it isn't this has the potential to go in my upcoming rig![]()
Between those 3 cards, I believe the MSI is quietest at idle, but the Gigabyte is better at load. That's from what i've read, anyway.
However, you can set up custom fan profiles with the MSI, which should make it silent all the time![]()
OK mateI'll be able to tell you in a couple of daysFrom what I hear it's barely noticeable, and it only appears 'brown' if you shine bright light on it
erm, using msi afterburner you can set up custom fan profiles with any card.
Is there any other GTX 670 that can be overvolted?
And, is it noticable?I don't think so. Don't quote me on that though![]()

What fan speed does it start at?Is anyone else getting an annoying buzzing/coil whine with this card, driving me mad.
Also anyone know what scans exchange procedure and policy is like?
What fan speed does it start at?
It doesn't seem to be linked to the fan, or any kind of fan noise, I tried manually turning up the fan and it doesn't make the sound. In games when the gpu is under load it just makes a horrible buzzing sound even if I turn the fan speed down. Can hear the buzzing through my 550d case with all the vents closed lol
Never had any issues with the 580 I was using before.
Might be a faulty cap or something, probably best to RMA it
Wow, so somehow i managed to read 'is it noticeable?' as asking whether overvolting was noticeable.
Damn uni work has me frazzled.
As for coil whine, I get very minor coil whine which can't be heard with the door on. The only time I hear loud audible coil whine (more of a screech) is during the credits screen of heaven 3.0 @ 5000+fps.
Is the coil whine occurring at a high fps? You can limit your fps with afterburner (aside from using adaptive vsync).
