MSI GTX 1070 X G throttling ?

Hello,

I have started overclocking my GPU using 3dmark FireStrike. Here are my odd scores,

1070 X G Clocked to ZG Specifications 1860 core & 2027 memory. Scores as follows:

1) 11,373

2) 11,350

3) 11,339

The GPU temperature never goes over 71 degrees during this ? The only time I have seen scores like above if something is throttling. I have heard these cards only start throttling after 85 degrees ?

Is there an issue with the temperature ? What would cause lower scores one after another ?

Cheers,

GPU Boost 3.0 works differently to previous versions.

Basically there are a few different things that make the GPU 'throttle' including both temps and power. It will adjust the boost at each voltage point rather than overall. Ultimately as the card gets warmer, the boosts will be adjusted throughout the range to compensate for the temps on each voltage point.

You need to look at the average boost clock over the whole run to see what is actually happening.

When running benchmarks, run your fans at 100% and let the card cool to its lowest temp before running another bench for better and more consistent numbers.
