MSI has decided to give the AM3+ platform the Krait Treatment and give it USB 3.1.

It's nice that Asrock isn't the only one who still believes in AM3+
But I feel like that MSI, just rolled out a board for sheer "Yay we haz 3.1 on our AM3+"
and "Look we have black and white theme on am3+"
Unless people buy HoF cards to put in ther, which, well it's obnoxious, because it's like getting a superpowerful card to run with an 8370 or lower. UNLESS, MSI has plans to start rolling out some more Krait themed "budget" graphics cards. (they have announced a 960 already).
[They achieved 3.1 by removing the SATA III powered by the plex chip by asmedia and used another plex chip so they could get some pcie bandwidth for the USBs]

It's definitely nice to see new AM3+ boards being released from someone, I wouldn't mind refreshing my 990FX motherboard to a more modern one like this one.
It's cost related really, allows the motherboard to be cheaper.
The only real difference as far as I'm aware between the 970 and 990FX is you'll get 2x16 PCIe lanes for a dual GPU setup with the latter, whereas the 970 that'll split to either 1x16 or 2x8.

Msi will also release a new 990fxa gaming with usb 3.1
Asrock is also releasing new boards. I'm not sure if they will have usb 3.1 but one of them will come with a M.2 slot.

With Intel going from dual core K to quad core K and leaving out HT the market has been wide open to AMD for ages.
The FX 6300 is the low-mid range choice now as Intel have been reluctant to join in the fracas.
The FX 8320 and 8350 are amazing chips but you do really need to need them for the threads. Providing you can find a use for the threads nothing can touch them at that price.
8350 is the smoke screen though. There really is no need to buy one given the 8230 is absolutely identical and cheaper.
