MSI GD65 Z87 Help

Hey guys,

Following Tom's advice I decided to get the MSI GD65 Z87 mobo with my 4770k. I tried running an overclock of 4.2Ghz with my h100i cooler and not even the bios would load. I swapped bioses and then set back to default. I then tried using OC genie to make sure it wasn't just my poor (and somewhat first time ocing) skills. This also did the same thing, but this time I had to clear cmos to get it working again. Any ideas?

Stop using auto volts like a n00b and work up to it like you are supposed to.

ALL CPU's are different, much more so with Haswell.

I also changed core voltage to 1.2V :P

Also, on stock, I ran prime 95 for 4 hours or so and temperatures hovering about 60C if that makes any difference.

Then as always its user error. follow our overclocking guide for 1155 and work you volts up.

If you cant help youself and just want to cut corners I honestly dont have time to help when Ive spent DAYS making guides already.

Ok, makes sense. Any ideas about the OC genie though? I thought that stuff was made to be n00b (i.e. Me) proof?

Yeah if youre a member here dont bother. Watch the guide youll see why. Just remember to work out your OWN volts. Its a guide dont just copy!!!

If you cba to learn how to do it its unfair expecting us to do it all for you.

Right I'll check it out.

Also I was going off Linus' video about overclocking 1150. You should tell him off.
