MSI Claw Handheld Images and Specifications Leak

This could be a good thing really depending on price and i'll be honest here it's going to have to be low as if it's not anywhere near the steam deck in price it's flat out got zero chance, with xe gpu it simply will fall flat on it's face if it's overpriced.

My personal feelings is i'm waiting for a next gen version of the steam deck as the oled version is a step towards it in time, put an upgraded chip in that and i'm all over it when able :)

I would imagine the XE it is based on is not released yet. And, could well be next gen.

TBH? no one has even tried to run SteamOS or what not on a modern XE onboard so no one really knows how the perform. Well, I would imagine someone has but I have not seen anything online.

Well see as good in terms of performance any of these windows handhelds are they are just a lot more expensive than the steam deck and simply do not works as well as the steam deck does. The newest ASUS one came closest in terms of price really when you compare it to the higher costing steam deck option. Thing is true they perform better in all ways in terms of hardware, but in terms of user experience not even close.

So my feeling regardless of it being from any manufacturer or performance if it's not sub £500 it's simply not worth it, I'd much rather have the OLED deck any day of the week.

They can put all the rgb on it they want as high a performance as they like, but in reality the deck is selling vastly more units than the rest and of course it's preference if you want or need one at all, but when something works well why go a different route. It's half the reason Nvidia has been so dominate but i've noticed a slight change in them steam charts AMD must have shifted a fair old wack of cards, cause before they were barely even in the list.

However i'd say this it would be nice if steam OS was able to support all these devices and then people have a lot better choice, but as it stands the deck just works so very well.

TBH I wouldn't buy an MSI anything any way. You can already tell their tactics. Why would you need a big sod off rucksack that is tacky and gaudy to carry a small handheld?

Hopefully the XE will be good and other companies will make them too, because I wouldn't buy MSI. May as well get the ROG one tbh...

If the XE is decent? you can bet they will all be making them in AMD and Intel versions any way.

I've used MSI for years they do have a bit of overkill on the gaming look, but I currently only have their motherboard as a product, They are actually a decent brand in my experience.

However when it comes to next hardware it'll not be MSI mainly as i am all amd now and so with GPU's it's sapphire and with motherboards is where my choice is changing and that is over to Asrock next time, since when they were doing the 370x bios updates, not only was it asrock that set it in motion but they were way ahead of the other brands, with even expansion card options on boards for extra features the other brand want a lot more expense on the board you buy.

As for the XE chip i've nothing against it, there drivers improved alot and while I'd not use it as a main GPU in a product like this it's certainly an option, thing is price is the overriding key factor get it wrong and it's got no chance.
