hi.

is there any good program that can make a database of all mp3 and show duplicate files and make quick searches on certain words ?

preferbly free and must be able to handle atleast 10.000 mp3's

when you say suplicate files, do you mean duplicate as in content, or as in id3 tags? if the latter, then im sure most music players can do that, itunes is quite good for searching

duplicate as in filename id3 and size.0

messed around alittle with winamp but doesnt help much when sorting through

iTunes is great for handling lots of files, I have about 13,000 songs and it does a super job at managine all of them. iTunes also has a built in feature for finding duplicates so that you can erase the copies u don't want.

Taa.

have itunes now but not that impressed of it to be honest, messes around way to much with my secondary monitor :(

making it a bit hard to view darkwing duck however it seems to have a good duplicate finder.

1202 hits ALITTLE more htan i thought of.

EDIT:

checked around and couldnt find any setting in itunes to stop it from messing around with my secondary monitor.

any ideas on how to solve the problem as its the only drawback i found sofar ?

I personally use Windows Media Player 10, Tried 11 but it spoiled the library which I use as my "music database".

I have over 100 hours in my library and every time I play a new song it there it remembers it for next time.

tried winamp in the past but when it comes to sorting through a big bunch of mp3's itunes seems to be better.

espacially with the duplicate filefiner.

never tried wmp though

hyper you have 100 hours in wmp.

i have over 6 days in itunes. if i put that amount of music in wmp it would die a painful death. i dont know if wmp11 fixed the gay database, but wmp10 certainly cannot handle large amounts of music.
