moving nh-d14 from 1155 to 1151 ?

to they use he same mounting parts or i need to buy a new mount for that socket ?
If you contact Noctua via email with a proof of purchase they will send you for free a new mounting system, Noctua are awesome that way they support their coolers constantly

I figured it was the same but didn't they announce a new mount as some noise over bending CPU's from coolers? even though theirs weren't effected

I'll just link to the article, but they do seem to give free mounts for socket 1151 no matter if one needs it. If I recall Noctua hasn't seen any complaints about their coolers bending Skylake CPUs. This was a problem with some of the Scythe air cooler if I remember correct.

Yeah thanks I knew I saw an article about from WYP and that's why I said to the OP to contact Noctua for the free upgrade kit

The mounting is identical on all LGA115x sockets (LGA1150, LGA1155, LGA1156). The following coolers are thus compatible with LGA1150 out of the box and don’t require any upgrades in order to be used on this platform: NH-C12P SE14, NH-C14, NH-D15, NH-D14, NH-L12, NH-L9i, NH-U14S, NH-U12S, NH-U12P SE2, NH-U9B SE2. In addition, all older models which have been upgraded with the NM-I3 kit can also be used on LGA1150 without any further upgrades.

The following coolers can be made compatible to LGA1150 using the NM-i115x Upgrade-Kit and are eligible for Noctua’s free mounting kit offer: NH-C12P, NH-U12, NH-U12F, NH-U12P, NH-U12P SE1366, NH-U9, NH-U9F, NH-U9B.

If for some weird reason you decide to request another mounting kit then Noctua would just send you an identical 115x SecuFirm2 kit which you already have with a D14. Just use the exact same mounting parts.

Who cares  its free. Would rather be better safe than sorry anyways. Besides having extras around can be rather handy.

Whats 'safer' about waiting to get another company to ship a part from Austria to Australia at their expense, which you already have and they probably won't give to you when you send them a receipt for a product which proves that you have it.

Well you dont lose anything and IF the cooler did indeed need a different mount then all is good. Obviously its not whats happening with OP, however who knows they may send one over and OP can have a spare just in case they might need it for some odd reason in the future. Maybe lose some of your time, and internet etc etc but seriously..
