Mouse Pointer disapears

I've searched the internet for this problem but none seem to be related to specifically to my problem. And for me the only solution that works is a reboot or to un-plug and re-plug the mouse. It's not the drivers fault either as I've only got 1 installed so no clashes there and it's up to date. After nearly 1 year of this problem being present I had hoped Microsoft would've resolved it, but so far I see no solution.

My usb keyboard works just fine, and it's attached to the same usb hub that my wireless mouse is attached to.

Most people seem to have the mouse disappearing because of multi-monitors, but that's not my problem as it still does it with just 1 connected. others say it disappears after logging in implying it's visible before, which is also not what happens. For me it only happens when I wake up my machine from sleep. I also don't have a touchscreen.

It's a clean install of windows 8.1 with no hold over from win 8 or 7. The solution so far is simply adding a mouse (original one won't work still) or going behind the computer and unplugging the usb mouse and plugging it back in in the same port.

You could try doing a task that launches upon unlocking of machine (logging in) that would restart the mouse driver...

I can't find any useful/working command on google, but maybe someone will figure it out.

Other than that I can't help much as I'm using neither w8, nor sleep mode, nor do I have such problem occurring. (any grammar nazi here? have I did done write that correct? ;))

I could probably write up a program that does that without to much problem, however I shouldn't have to write such a program in the first place for a Operating system that has been making them for desktops for 'quite' a few years now.

Oh well disappointing, good thing is I've yet to come across this problem in Windows 10 preview..
