More pimptastic RMA action!

Well it started long long ago :)

This whole chain of bad events happened when I had accidentally chipped a transistor off the back of my 9NDA3+. So I took the leap and went for the 9NPA+ Ultra and got myself a new pci-e vid card to go with it. At that time I also decided to upgrade PSU's and went with the Fortron 500w Blue Storm because of the appealing price tag. I got all of the new parts put in to my new case, got everything all wired up, flipped the switch, smelled a slight burning and nothing happened... I figured maybe a defective mobo so I RMA'd it, while it was being RMA'd I had my super winnie tested and it had been fried so I got a new 3000+. When the new board came in I plugged everything back in and tried it again, same slight burning smell and then nothing. So this time I have decided to rma both the new vid card as it may be dead and the psu as I now suspect it as the culprit for blowing all of my parts this entire time. I'm taking my mobo and cpu in to have both tested this week. I'm 99% sure that the new CPU i got is now fried and I can only hope that the mobo is still in good condition or else I'll have to RMA it yet again for a 3rd replacement, lol.

That's the story in a nutshell, there were some other wierd things going on but that would take a long time to explain all that stuff that happened in between.
 
Damn, thats a run of bad luck. I'd be ready to start smashing things lol, but seriously...I hope you're up and running soon dude!!!! :cool:
 
Sounds like a series of events similar to mine. Buy lots of stuff till you decide that one particular part is the culprit. At least now I have a lot of shiny new stuff living in my Case! :D

Rofl yeah... I'm hoping that it was a bad psu so that when my replacement comes in I can be back up and running without a hiccup.

By the time this is all said and done I'll have a new mobo, cpu, vid card, and psu. lol.

Yeah I got a new case (heat), CPU, motherboard, PSU and mouse (well that was just for the hell of it really!) Still it was all worth it - my new 64's faster than hell!! :wavey: :D

I know for certain this new Winchester I bought locally is gonna be a fuckin gay overclocker... It's a 2nd week '05 chip with CBBID stepping = teh sux. Wish my PSU wouldn't have blown up my good Winnie.

I only plan on keeping it as a backup....

I think I've decided to buy a Venice on friday if I can get my hands on one instead of buying my new LCD.... I'll get that a couple weeks from friday with the next paycheck, I just don't think I can live with a chip that doesn't overclock worth a fuck.

Seriously man you gotta get an TFT - they rock and cut down the space. I was faced with the same decision and was glad I got my sweet TFT! I love it and makes my games soooo much better! :D

Yeah I definately want it but I also don't like the idea of how much I've put into this computer just to have it held back by a gay ass cpu.

Thats a sexy ass TFT Frag! Mine is 10ms Ilyama Prolite and it rocks hard! Seriously nice display and it only cost me £198!! :worship:

Nice man, I have been drooling over this monitor for about two weeks now and I'll finally be able to buy it on Friday if my computer gets back up and running this week.

Only way I wont be able to get it is if i hafta dump more money into my comp... If I need a new PSU it looks like I'll be going with a 600w Powerstream to make sure it can handle all the crazy shit in my case.

I can't complain with my job :) It keeps me in the chips, hehe.
 
I've had 3 defective motherboards in the past 3 months. Im on my 4th now and hopefully nothing will go wrong with it.

They worked fine for 1-2 weeks, then i'd do something like change the ram, and that'd be it..no boot. Tried reseting cmos etc. - everything. I think it must have been static.

If this board goes, i will kill myself.

Good new - I got a reply from Aria on my motherboard.

They said that the board was defective and they are giving me a full refund!

w00t!! :D :beerchug:
