More GTX295 Details

If it outperforms the 4870X2, expect a ridiculous pricetag. Despite the fact that ATi have a serious lead over the GTX280 in quite a few scenarios, they don't add £££ onto the price, it's proportional to the increase in performance. I hope nV will do the same, and that they drop the price of 9800GTX+ to the point where they are the same as a 4850.

I guess around early £400 mark upon release...but thing that puts me of just a little is the 9800GX2 it was good card but a little stuttery and didn't always seem to give a big 50% boost if you like, but i have a feeling this will be better as ATI have cracked it so nVidia Must follow suit and top the 4870x2.

Initially it`ll come out and beat the x2 by something insignificant. People will "lol" with the £450+ price tag. Then those people will fade away when the driver editions come out.

I`m thinking £450+ dropping by £50 within a month, as usual.

One of those moments Rasto. Hatred and laughter in equal measure.

I'm not sure I can see the benfits of the IC use yet but hey its still impressive. Do I go i7 or SLi GTX295 or SLi GTX180?

That's gonna be a bit costly.

I never understood how you cool a GPU with 2 PCBs stuck together.

Like how do you cool the 2nd processor in-between the PCBs?

Or am I being a bit stupid?

HELP ME GUYS!

lol :p

Both cores face inwards at each other :)

I`ve not personally seen that ATI are in any way in a `serious lead` at anything other than costing.

To that end, and with hardly a fist full of games out there that push boundries at the resolutions in use, ATI will be cards I`d push for some1 asking who`s on a budget.

If there is no budget, there`s no question. And to be fair their also, people tend to remember the original pricing the nVidia cards came out at, and adopt the OC/XXX versions as the massive standard for the range. Myself I bought a stock 602 clocked card and made up the £75 (or whatever it was) with a simple OC.

Imagine a GTX260, and then it's mirror image. They simply connect the two PCBs and mount them together on to one PCIe connector. To cool both cores, I don't know what they do on the stock cooling, but I should imagine it is the same as with water; you simply wedge the waterblock or heatsink in between both cores. Since they are mirror images of each other, the two cores line up facing each other perfectly (where as if you simply got two normal ones and put them face to face the cores would not face each other unless the core was perfectly centered).

Depending on the price, you may see me buying one and selling my 3870x2...

Some serious clocking to be done"!!!!

Think this is partially why they dont make a 280x2 imo. As a single unit, u'd be talking about one heck of an amount of heat. A single 280 is too hot tbh, seems happy enough tho.
