mono speaker laptop

HI,

I'm looking at getting an Acer 5742 laptop, it has a mono speaker.

If I connect this to a TV will the sound be mono?

If the TV is Stereo the sound will be in stereo because the TV will be outputting the sound and not the laptop.

Well that depends. What are you using to output the sound? are you using a standard 3.5mm audio cable or a mono cable? chances are if you are plugging it in via standard 3.5 you will get stereo.
