Monitor Sound Issue

Hi, when I play my PS4, I connect it to my monitor so I switch my speakers from my PC to the monitors audio out port. Two days ago it just stopped working properly and only plays audio out of the left speaker. Tried it with my headphones and it only plays out of the left side as well.

I was wondering if there was any way around this? To play directly to my speakers from the PS4 or another way around this?

Also wasn't sure if this was the correct section or if it should go in the speakers section.

EDIT: Okay, found a fix that I should have realised straight away. I connected the speakers to the headphone jack on my controller and that plays from both speakers. This doesn't seem like the best workaround, if it isn't the only one then what else can I try?
