Monitor resolution problem.

Hi guys, today I decided to try out 3D mark Vantage. but it told me that my monitor does not support the lowest settings.

The max I can get my monitor on my PC is 1360 X 768.

I think it may be because I am using a 19" samsung HD tv. But then again. when I hook up my PS3 to it, it goes to 1080p mode, so it is capable of a higher resolution.

Is this because I am using a VGA cable instead of a HDMI cable to hook it up the PC.

And if so would using a HDMI cable allow me to up my resolution so it is capable of running vantage.

The HD TV i am using as a monitor is a SyncMaster 933HD

or is it better to just get shot of it?

Had the same problem before, it was an older graphics card and I tried the DVI to VGA adapter and the S-Video connection, neither worked.

Can't see how using an HDMI cable would miraculously fix the problem, did you get one with your PS3 you could test with?

You won't be able to do 1920x1080 without a HDMI lead VGA has a limited resolution, can't remember what it is but it is limited so to be able to display at 1080 you will need HDMI.

right HDMI cable in, and yes I can up the resolution. But it looks terrible at this setting. lol so guess its time for a new monitor.
