Mod my Lian Li P80R or get the Bitfenix Shinobi XL/Fractal Design Define XL

Well hello there folks, this here is my first post on this forum but I've been reading up on the forums for quite some time and been an avid follower of TTL on youtube for months, might even be years by now.

Now, for my question at hand:

I currently bestow me a Lian Li P80R of which I bought back in '08. With me currently planning to upgrade to a 680 in SLI config, new hardware all over and whatnot I'd like my P80R to recieve some upgrades as well. My current plan is to cover up the "ATI Crossfire X" in the side-door, keep the spider and paint the case pitch black with a matt finish. I've also got some broken screws due to the rather "cheap" aluminium screws Lian Li used for this case, so I have to swap out a few pop rivets and whatnot to fix it. I'm also planning to do something along these lines -

Combined with what Maxishine did with his P80(3:20 and so forth) -

Alas: Place some sort of blackened acryllic sheets or black pieces of metal to cover up the bottom of the case, the HDD side which is visible through the window of the side panel, the support bracket at the top and so forth. I was thinking of acryllic panels with fan brackets to place a Corsair H100 "hanging" from it, any thoughts? I'd also like to have some sort of cover to easen the gap between the mobo-tray and the cables, perhaps have the cables come out of a sheet of acryllic or metal like in the picture above. -

There's also the painting of the case, which I've never done before as this will be my first MAJOR case mod if I go through with it. Do I need to sand it down, primer and so forth, or can you strip down the case and literally just spraypaint it? I was thinking as I've mentioned earlier in the post a really dark/matt black OR even a much darker red than what's already present. I'm fairly tired of the "pink" look of the case and I'd like to have a.. well, sexier case. LED strips and darker red fans and so forth would be mandatory, of course. Might also place a 140/120mm fan over the PSU as there's plenty of space.

Or should I just buy a new case?

Please, do give me your thoughts and any ideas you might have a VERY much welcome.
