moar kepler info

The 680 is only 40% faster in cherry picked benchmarks, its not 40% faster overall, its not much better than the 7970, they are on par for once. Remember when everyone was waxing lyrical that the 680 was 50% faster than AMD's equivalent, well it wasn't its marketing, hype and people bull-sh*tting and speculating.

Thats another thing as well though, Nvidia never said anything, all this stuff about the 680 not being the 580 replacement was all made up, there is no evidence to support it. It's the same with all the other rumors about it being 50% faster than a 7970, Nvidia never said anything, it was all speculation, the first time Nvidia officially said anything about the 680 and Kepler was in that youtube vid that was posted a page or two back.

Thats the thing bro, everyone just speculates and I don't like it, I'm guilty of it as much as the next dude. Its not going to get anything released quicker, all we can really do, as you said is wait for the official releases.

It's exactly why I was stressing people to no longer speculate about the performance. It was about 2 days before the official release date of the GTX680 and people were already saying they were disappointed by the card, basing everything on "leaked benchmarks" that turned out to be unreliable in the end. Of course I understand why people speculate about the performance, and of course there's freedom of speech and whatnot, but being disappointed by a card that's not even released or properly reviewed yet is taking it a bit too far.

I don't see why people are so disappointed in the 680? It is faster, cooler and has a lower power consumption than the 580, ofcourse it is the succesor to the 580. I think people have what i like to call faildozer-syndrom, where they get all hyped and then disappointed when they find out that [insert product here] wasn't 10 times faster than its predecessor.

People are still speculating though, all the Nvidia fanboys are still holding on to the made up stuff and are convinced the 680 is a midrange card, even though all the 50% faster than a 7970 and the mid range stuff was all blatantly made up
