Mionix Naos vs Logitech G700 vs R.A.T. 7

I have the choice between three mice which are all pretty much the same price where I live.

Mionix Naos 500
Logitech G700
RAT 7

I have heard that the RAT mice have quite a few issues and that the Naos and Logitech are extremely comfortable.

I am mainly looking at a comfortable mouse that will prevent my pinkie and ring finger from dragging on my mouse mat. I prefer a 'larger mouse as well and I am really not fussed with the amount of buttons.

I currently have the Sharkoon Fireglider but I find it a bit small (135 x 70 x 45 mm).

My hand size is 195x210 stretched and 170x115 relaxed.

I have large hands and I ordered a R.A.T 7 last week, unfortunately it was DOA but I did have a play around with it to get a feel of it. After adjusting it and using the pinkie rest, I got it to fit my my hand perfectly.

I'm using a Steelseries XAI at the moment and because I have big hands I have to grip it pretty tight, I also have to keep readjusting my grip and my pinkie rubs against the mat a lot. With the R.A.T 7 though, I din't even have to grip it, it just fitted into my hand perfectly and was really comfortable.

I would definitely recommend the R.A.T 7 if you have big hands, I did think about going for the Mionix Naos 500 but there seems to be a lot of negative reviews for it's performance. Think i'm going to order the R.A.T 9 next week, need to read some more reviews on it first though.

Yes, the RAT 9 does look nice because it is wireless. My wired mouse is kind of annoying... The RAT 9 is about $40 more then the RAT 7 though.. The RAT 7 is 'only' $90 while the G700 is $80 and the Naos 500 at $85
I guess if I have issues with the RAT 7 I can just return it.

I've found the R.A.T 9 for just £10 more than the 7 over here so I don't mind paying a little extra for the wireless, just got to wait for my refund for the R.A.T 7 to clear in my account :D If you go for the R.A.T and don't like it return it and try out the Naos 500, that would be my second choice anyway.

should probably state the obvious and say I'm using a naos just now after being stupid enough to try a mionix mouse which broke within 2 weeks as did it;s replacement, roccat for all people rant and raved about the have terrible product quality and I'v used a lot of them using an arvo just now but looking at getting a zibal(I know difference leagues)

Anyway! Yes I got my Naos Second hand for £20 as the previous owner could get comfy with it apparently, it's in mint condition and I love it to bits the roccat Kone+ i was using previously was awkward in the hand for all it was big enough and my pinky still rubbed on the mat and gave me cramp. The naos is a dream to use it just fits much like the R.A.T 7 by the sounds of things and I'v recommend it in an instant Mionix FTW creating a new company the right way....take note Roccat!

I just bought a G700, found a refurbished one for only £35 so thought why not.
Will be able to give you my opinion on it tomorrow anyway, if you haven't already bought a mouse.

Awesome, thanks heaps. Haven't bought a mouse yet ;)

Well I got the G700, it's a good mouse but it's not for me.

It's really accurate and works just as good wireless as it does wired, no lag at all but it has a weird shape and doesn't suit a palm grip very well, for me anyway. Would be good for a claw grip though, there is plenty of grip on the left hand side but there isn't much on the right. Also it has a sort of weird texture to it that makes my hand sweat, so that's another bad point.

The software is good though and easy to use, you can fully customize the buttons, set different profiles and save them on the mouse it's self and switch between them on the go.

Personally I don't like the feel of it but it is a good mouse and just because it didn't work for me doesn't mean it won't for you though. I'm going to sell it and grab a R.A.T 9 I think, I know from the 7 that it fits well in my hand, so it looks like that is the mouse for me.

Does the G700 have that rubberised sort of texture to it? I need the pinkie rest so it looks as though the G700 may not be for me. I really would like the RAT 9 due to the wireless and customizability but it is $130 and can't really justify the price...

The sides on the G700 have a sort of grainy plastic feel to them sort of like sand paper, this is what makes my hand sweat. The rest of the mouse is smooth plastic.

I wouldn't recommend it if it's the pinkie rest you are after, my pinkie rubs more with the G700 than it does with my Steelseries XAI and thats half the height of the G700. It's a shame really because it is a good mouse but it's not very comfortable.

I saw a new Razer mouse that is coming out from a thread Raven made yesterday called the Ouroboros, it's not out for a while but it looks like the perfect mouse so I think i'll wait for that and stick with my XAI for now.

Ah, I saw that mouse. It looks like it should be very good, and wireless too! If it is considerably cheaper then the R.A.T. 9 then I may get that new Razer mouse instead.

I am wondering if I can use the RAT 7 pinkie rest on the RAT 5? The RAT 5 is almost half the price of the RAT 7...

Hm, I found the RAT 7 for $80 and the RAT 5 for $60. I may as well the RAT 7 because it comes with more parts and the RAT 9 is about $120...
