Mini Gaming Rig.

Ok so the bigger 2011 build I am going to be building is going to be the Rig I work on so no game play there (even though it will run games just fine) but I've decided I want a little system built in the Prodigy that I can use to game at my house or take round to a friends and here is what I have come up with...

So I would just like to get your opinion if there is anything I should change. Also would it be worth getting the 3770k instead?

I'd go for a Silverstone strider power supply, as you can get very well priced fully modular ones, so I'd get a 500w silverstone strider, and from Scan you can get a short cable kit, specifically for ITX builds.

Agreeing with Robbie, stick with the i5.

I'd also look to go for the ASUS Z77 board. I know it's double the price, but it should allow overclocking, and with it it would make the rig a very good overall gaming rig, not just for transporting, but would be immense for a static rig too.

Yeah if you check the first link I updated it to the Z77 board.

I did watch TTLs video on the Prodigy where he mentioned the short cable kit BUT I've never used a Silverstone PSU before. I have a Corsair AX 850 here for a Rig I am build for a friend and it looks nice, seems well built and I like how corsair makes them. But if the Silverstone is just as good I'll switch it to that.

First link? Still says H77 to me.

Silverstone power supplies are very reliable. I have an AX850 myself, and it is good yeh. The silverstone ones are also very good and as they have the short cable kit they are perfect for ITX systems, so I'd say go with that.

It appears my edit didn't work http://pcpartpicker.com/uk/p/eZcL that link should work.

So does the build look good and is there anything else I Should change?

You really dont need it. You'd be spending an extra £50 to get like an extra % difference....

That will never pay off in the energy bills.

Just get the 500w.

ASUS.
They just make better boards IMO. Packed with features, and will be better for overclocking. I dont rate ITX asrock boards atm either

Fair enough, I looked up A Prodigy Build with this board and the H80 and they had to file a bit of the back plate off to get the back plate to fit next to the MSata port on the back of the board.

If you grab the Samsung 830 256GB its £129.99 after rebate :)

Rebate o.0? Isn't that a US/Canada thingy?

there is an aussie, that did a prodigy build on a full water loop; which was short of epic.
he had modded the PSU wire cut-out to a full open area and made a CPU back-plate cut-out
as well. afterwards relized possibly opening the complete area under the motherboard to further
the cooling effect for the motherboard for overclocking.
