I presume it is due to cable management, and by the looks of it you have to get up anyway to put the disk in. Although it is a strange thing, some people do just put it in the bottom because that is what they have always done.

LOL, I did have everything custom silver for the case, took AGES to get a DVDRW and floppy in silver. Now I don't really care since I hardly even use the case, I have the doors back on it now anyways. I almost have the funds for WC kit and LL case.
Waiting for 42" LG TV to come in stock first though
